Mr Amit P. Modi

Mr. Modi graduated from the University of Mumbai before completing his basic and advanced surgical training in the West Midlands and Hampshire. He was trained in cardiac surgery at the renowned Wessex cardiothoracic centre, and he also travelled to Belgium and Canada to acquire special skills in complex aortic surgery and valve repair.

Mr. Modi was appointed at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton as a consultant cardiac surgeon in 2016 before returning to Southampton in 2022 to focus entirely on adult cardiac surgery. He performs coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve surgery, major aortic surgery, and concomitant arrhythmia ablative operations.

Over 1,400 major heart operations have been performed by Mr. Modi. He believes in tailoring evidence-based care to meet every patient’s individual needs. He has received nominations and has also been a recipient of various national and international awards to gain recognition in the specialty. He has excellent surgical outcomes and patient feedback.
