Professional Surgical Leadership

Mr. Modi has dedicated himself to his cardiac surgery patients and also to his professional cardiac organisations, his surgical trainees, his hospitals, the wider NHS, and humankind.

Mr. Modi currently serves on the executive committee of the UK Aortic Society. He previously served on the SCTS board of unit representatives and as the RSCH Brighton aortic audit lead. He is the cardiac course director for training national cardiothoracic trainees at the ST3.1 course in Germany, and he is also a programme committee member for the 2022–23 national SCTS meetings. In his role as the education co-lead for UKAS, Mr. Modi collaborates with national patient voice charities to promote awareness of aortic dissection.

Mr. Modi’s professional affiliations include the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland, the British Medical Association, and the United Kingdom Aortic Society (UKAS).
