Professional Surgical Leadership

Mr Tsang has dedicated himself to his cardiac surgery patients and also to his professional cardiac organisations, his surgical trainees, his hospitals and the wider NHS for over 20 years.

At University Hospital Southampton he has held various leadership roles including being the Clinical Service Director for Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiology. He has served on the Medical Advisory Committee at Spire Hospital Southampton. He has held the most senior roles for training Cardiothoracic Registrars for the Wessex and Oxford Deaneries, serving as the Regional Training Programme Director, Chair of the Specialty Training Committee and being a member of the national Specialty Advisory Committee. He is an examiner in cardiothoracic surgery for the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations and represents the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on the Intercollegiate Cardiothoracic Examination Board. Mr Tsang has also been Chair of the Surgical Specialty Board at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Mr Tsang’s additional professional affiliations include: Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland, British Medical Association, United Kingdom Aortic Surgery Group and the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery.
